Zebra stone, or zebra jasper, is a banded rock marked in stark black and white or cream, the contrast as bold and deliberate-looking as its namesake. Most of what's available comes from Western Australia's Kimberley region, where iron-rich sediment layered unevenly over long stretches of geological time to create the banding.

Each piece's stripes are entirely a product of mineral deposition, never repeating in exactly the same width or spacing from one specimen to the next.

Zebra stone is worked with for grounding and balancing opposing sides of a situation or of yourself. It sits with the root.
