Sunstone is a feldspar containing fine inclusions of copper or hematite, arranged so that light catches them in a warm, sparkling flash called aventurescence, the same optical effect at work in green aventurine but produced by a different mineral. Oregon, in the United States, produces some of the finest material in the world and has made it the state's official gemstone; it's also found in Norway and India.

Tilt a piece under strong light and the sparkle genuinely seems to move, shifting position as the angle changes.
