Sodalite — The stone of the rational mind
For thinking clearly rather than feeling deeply.
Sodalite is deep blue with white veining, and it's often confused with lapis lazuli — the difference is that lapis carries pyrite flecks and sodalite doesn't. It was named for its sodium content, and it was barely known until an 1891 deposit in Ontario made it fashionable after Princess Margaret chose it for Marlborough House.
Some sodalite is tenebrescent: expose it to ultraviolet light and the colour darkens, then fades back in daylight.
Sodalite is worked with for logic, objectivity and clear communication — it's the stone associated with thinking a problem through rather than intuiting an answer. It sits with the throat and third eye.
Sheri chooses every piece by hand, cleanses it, and charges it before it's packed here on the Gold Coast.
Often suggested for a study or a desk.
