Pyrite — Fool's gold, and not foolish at all

For confidence more than for luck.

Pyrite forms in near-perfect cubes, which is startling the first time you hold one — the geometry looks manufactured. It grows that way because of how iron and sulfur lock together, and in Navajún, Spain, it produces cubes so sharp they look cut.

The name comes from Greek pyr, fire: strike it against steel and it throws sparks. It was used to start fires long before it was used to disappoint prospectors. Its metallic gold sheen is what earned it the nickname, though it's harder and more brittle than gold, and it turns up in the same rock.

Pyrite is worked with for abundance and self-belief — less about attracting luck than about acting like someone who expects things to work. It sits with the solar plexus.

Sheri chooses every piece by hand, cleanses it, and charges it before it's packed here on the Gold Coast.

Keep it dry. This one matters.
