Amethyst — The stone of the quiet mind
For the mind that won't switch off.
Amethyst is quartz turned violet by traces of iron and natural irradiation over millions of years. Colour runs from the palest lilac at the base of a point to a deep royal purple at the tip — and in chevron amethyst, it bands with white quartz in sharp V shapes you can trace with a fingernail.
It has been the stone of clarity since antiquity. The Greeks named it amethystos, "not intoxicated," and carved drinking vessels from it in the belief it would keep the head clear. Medieval bishops wore it on the hand that gave blessings.
Amethyst is worked with for calm and for clear thinking — the two usually arrive together. It sits with the third eye and crown, the centres associated with insight and perspective, which is why it turns up in almost every meditation practice and on almost every bedside table.
Sheri chooses every piece by hand, cleanses it, and charges it before it's packed here on the Gold Coast. Nothing leaves as just a stone.
Keep it where you rest or where you think. It's a settling stone, not an activating one.

Care
Keep out of prolonged direct sunlight — amethyst fades to pale over time. Water is safe. Cleanse with smoke, sound or moonlight.
Clear Quartz — The Master Healer
The one you reach for when you're not sure what you need.
Clear quartz is quartz at its purest — silicon dioxide with almost nothing else in it. The clearest pieces look like frozen water, and the old Greek name krystallos meant exactly that: they believed it was ice that had frozen so hard it could never melt.
It's the most programmable of all crystals. Hold it, name what you're working towards, and it holds the thread. That's why it turns up at the centre of grids, in the hand during meditation, and beside almost every other stone in a collection — it doesn't compete, it amplifies.
Clear quartz is worked with for clarity, focus and intention. It's called the master healer not because it does everything, but because it strengthens whatever else is already working.

Fluorite — The stone of focus
For a mind with too many tabs open.
Fluorite grows in cubes and octahedrons, and it comes in more colours than almost any mineral — purple, green, blue, yellow, clear, often banded together in the same piece. Under ultraviolet light many specimens glow: the word fluorescence was coined in 1852 after this stone.
It's soft enough to carve, which is why the Romans made drinking cups from banded blue-john fluorite and paid extraordinary sums for them. Pliny recorded a consul who owned one he liked so much he chewed its rim.
Fluorite is worked with for mental clarity and order — for sorting a problem rather than pushing through it. It sits with the third eye and heart, depending on colour.
Sheri chooses every piece by hand, cleanses it, and charges it before it's packed here on the Gold Coast.
The stone most often suggested for a desk or a study.
