Carnelian — The stone that gets you moving
For the person who knows what they want and hasn't started yet.
Carnelian is chalcedony coloured by iron oxide, and the shade tells you how it formed — pale apricot where the iron is sparse, deep rust where it saturated the stone. Hold a piece up to daylight and most of them glow from within.
It's one of the oldest crystals in recorded use. The Egyptians carved it into amulets and set it in the collars of the dead. Roman officials chose it for seal rings because hot wax wouldn't stick to it. Across cultures and centuries, it's been the stone of the doer.
That reputation holds. Carnelian is worked with for momentum — for courage, creative drive, and the push to begin. It sits with the sacral and solar plexus, the centres associated with creativity and personal power, which is why people reach for it when the wanting is there and the starting isn't.
Sheri chooses every piece by hand, cleanses it, and charges it before it's packed here on the Gold Coast. Nothing leaves as just a stone.
Keep it where you work rather than where you rest — its energy is active, not settling. New to crystals? A tumble is the easiest way in.

Pairs well with
Citrine · Sunstone · Garnet
Care
Safe with water and brief sunlight — prolonged sun may fade the colour. Cleanse with smoke, sound or moonlight.
Orgonite — Crystal and metal
Not a stone, and we won't pretend otherwise.
Orgonite is a made object: crystals and metal shavings suspended in cured resin. It's based on the work of Wilhelm Reich, an Austrian psychoanalyst who in the 1930s and 40s theorised a form of energy he called orgone, and built devices layering organic and inorganic material to interact with it. The modern craft version dates to the 1990s.
There's no scientific consensus behind it, and we'd rather say so than imply one. What's true is that each piece is cast individually, so the internal pattern of metal and crystal is never quite repeated, and people keep them near electronics or in workspaces.
If you're drawn to it, it's worth having. If you want a natural mineral, look at black tourmaline or shungite instead.
