Morganite — Beryl in the softest pink
For love that includes yourself in the equation.
Morganite is beryl in its softest pink, coloured by trace manganese, and it shares its mineral family with emerald and aquamarine — the same base crystal, coloured by a different trace element. It was named in 1911 for the American financier J.P. Morgan, an avid gem collector, by the gemologist George Frederick Kunz, who'd already lent his own name to kunzite a few years earlier.
Most fine morganite comes from Brazil, Madagascar and Afghanistan, typically in pale, delicate shades ranging from blush to peachy pink.
Morganite is worked with for self-love and emotional healing — closely related to rose quartz and kunzite in effect, with beryl's added durability. It sits with the heart.
Sheri chooses every piece by hand, cleanses it, and charges it before it's packed here on the Gold Coast.
