Llanite — The stone of new perspective

Llanite is a rhyolite found in exactly one place on earth — Llano County, Texas — marked with distinctive blue-grey feldspar crystals scattered through a pink-to-tan groundmass. It's genuinely rare outside its home county, and its localised origin is part of why it's not a name most people outside serious crystal circles have heard.

The blue colour in its feldspar crystals comes from the same optical effect responsible for labradorite's flash, though llanite's version is more subdued and speckled rather than a sweeping sheen.

Llanite is worked with for shifting perspective — seeing an old problem from an angle you hadn't tried yet. It sits with the third eye.
