Leopardite is a rhyolite — a volcanic rock formed from fast-cooling lava — marked with dark, rounded spots that genuinely do resemble a leopard's coat. Those spots form through a process called devitrification, where the rock's glassy structure slowly reorganises into radiating mineral clusters as it cools, rather than through anything biological. Most of what's sold comes from a single region in Chihuahua, Mexico.

No two pieces share quite the same spot pattern, since each formed through slightly different cooling conditions in the original lava flow.

Leopardite is worked with for quiet confidence and standing out without trying to. It sits with the root and sacral.
