Hessonite — Cinnamon garnet
For warmth that carries its own kind of confidence.
Hessonite is a variety of grossular garnet, coloured a distinctive cinnamon-orange by iron and manganese, which is where its common nickname — cinnamon stone — comes from. It's been significant in Vedic astrology for centuries under the name gomedha, associated there with the lunar node Rahu and worn specifically for the qualities linked to that placement.
It forms in metamorphic rock and is found across Sri Lanka, India and Brazil, generally in smaller, well-formed crystals rather than large masses.
Hessonite is worked with for grounded confidence and vitality, in the same warm register as its garnet relatives. It sits with the root and sacral.
Sheri chooses every piece by hand, cleanses it, and charges it before it's packed here on the Gold Coast.
