Angelite — The stone of gentle words
For a softer kind of communication than words usually manage.
Angelite is anhydrite — calcium sulfate without the water molecule that its close cousin selenite carries. That missing water is the whole story of the stone: given enough time and moisture, angelite will slowly absorb water from the air and convert back into gypsum, losing its structure in the process. It comes almost entirely from a single region of Peru.
Its pale, powdery blue is close to nothing else in the mineral world, and the name — given fairly recently, in the 1980s — reflects that soft, sky-like colour more than any tradition attached to it.
Angelite is worked with for gentle communication and a sense of calm connection — the stone people keep nearby rather than carry, for the quiet it brings to a room. It sits with the throat and crown.
Sheri chooses every piece by hand, cleanses it, and charges it before it's packed here on the Gold Coast.
Keep it dry — water is the one thing this stone can't take.
